Getting Started
- Why should I sign up on Service-Connected?
Service-Connected is about real life, not just an online community. If you failed to document the names of your friends, you increase the odds that you’ll never find them again. Service-Connected removes the guess-work about fellow service members. Every user’s experience is localized to their home military installation and then secondly on a worldwide level. Service-Connected gives users unprecedented flexibility and security as the most effective way to engage Military personnel. Military members will use Service-Connected everyday for direct access to information, friends, interest, and places that make up the military experience.
- Do I need to create an account to use Service-Connected?
Yes. In order to use Service-Connected’s services you must be a member but becoming a member is absolutely FREE.
- How do I register to become a member?
Service-Connected is the first social utility exclusively for Military personnel. Sign-up by using a .MIL or .EDU email address for validation on the registration page. Once the registration page has been completed, now check your .MIL or .EDU email address for your personal password. You’re now set to enjoy Service-Connected’s free features.
FOR ROTC ONLY, you’ll have a second step along with using the .EDU email address on the registration page. You’ll also need a ROTC specific entrance code supplied by Service-Connected. Service-Connected’s staff will contact and supply each ROTC unit with a personalized entrance code for validation purposes. Feel free to also email Service-Connected with your schools ROTC website at rotc@service-connected.com for an entrance code.
- What are the benefits of membership?
As a member of Service-Connected, individuals have access to a full range of services that we have to offer. Our current free services include:

- Do I need to login to Service-Connected every time I visit?
We recommend you login every time you visit Service-Connected. It enables you to track your profile as well as use the full range of features on the site.

Your Account
- Why can't I create an account?
Please send us an email describing how far into the account creation process you were able to complete as well as the error you received.
- Why can't I log into my account?
Please verify that you are logging in with the correct password and user email. We also recommend clearing your browser's cookies and temporary internet files and then try logging in again. If you have tried the methods above with no success, then your profile may have been deleted. Service-Connected may delete profiles if they violate the site's Terms of Use. You can contact us, support@service-connected.com
- What happens if I forget my password?
You can retrieve your password by clicking the "password reminder" link just below the login section of the website.
- How can I change my password?
Password changes can be made under Account Settings. Once there, type in the new password you want to use and click on “Update Password”.
- How do I change my email address?
E-mail changes can be made under Account Settings. Once there, type in the new email address you want to use and click on "Update Contact E-mail".
- How do I change my personal information?
You may change and/or add to the information on your Profile through "Edit profile" in the Command Center menu.
- How do I block a user?
To block users you will need to visit “Privacy Settings” in the Command Center menu.
- How do I unblock a user?
Add the User to your friends list and/or visit “Privacy Settings” in the Command Center menu.
- How are Service-Connected’s networks set-up?
Every user’s experience is localized to their home military installation and then secondly on a worldwide level.
- How can I add friends to my network?
First, you can invite new people to join Service-Connected. Second, you can ask permission to anyone whose profile you see on Service-Connected to be among your list of friends. Simply click on "Add to Friends," it’s found just across from the person's profile picture. Keep in mind, when adding existing Service-Connected members to your list of friends through the "Add to Friends" link, the person you are attempting to add will be able to approve or deny your request to be added as friends.
- How can I delete friends from the "My Friends" list on my profile?
To remove a person from your Friends List, start by clicking "Friends" in the Command Center menu. You will see a listing of every friend on your Friends List. Click "Remove" it’s located across from the person’s profile picture.
- How do I change my default picture?
Your profile photo can be changed by clicking the "Click here to edit your profile photo" link just below your profile photo. If you have not yet added a profile photo, you will see a link to first add a profile photo.This will be the image everyone sees as your profile picture.

Proper use of the site
- What happens to people who spam Service-Connected?
Users who spam Service-Connected will have their posting privileges suspended and/or revoked.
- How do I report questionable content to staff at Service-Connected?
At the bottom of every profile page we provide a link to abuse@service-connected. We encourage you to use this link whenever you see questionable content posted to the site. In your e-mail, please provide information as to the reason you find the content questionable.
- Someone on Service-Connected is bullying me. What can I do about it?
If you are being bullied by another Service-Connected member online, check the Terms of Use first. If the bullying violates the Terms of Use, report it to abuse@service-connected and the offending comments and/or profile will be removed.
